What a long strange trip it's been.
Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt (too much)

Got my first demerit on the first day of school freshman year. Walking in line single file to the cafeteria for lunch, the line stopped abruptly --I didn't. I stepped on the heal of Jeff Ausen who was in line ahead of me. His shoe came off, which created a little commotion. The dear sister who was overseeing things wouldn't accept my protests that the incident was an accident. In her book, I went down as a trouble maker, and I became the first demerit of the class of '65.
