Vincent Cicchini - Class Of 1969

Vincent Cicchini

Vince Cicchini, 71, of Okeechobee, Florida passed away peacefully with family at his side on Saturday, September 4th, 2022

He was born February 17, 1951 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the son of the late Frank (Chick) Cicchini and Emma (Pacetti) Cicchini. He was educated in Kenosha schools and after leaving St. Joseph High School he enlisted in the Marines during the Vietnam Conflict. He rose to Sgt. and earned a Certificate of Commendation while at Camp Pendleton, California. He also was awarded National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and a Meritorious Mast. He loved being a Marine and embraced everything it stood for, he was a Marine always until the end.

Vince owned several taverns in Kenosha including Chick’s Bar, Vince’s Out of Bounds and Chick & Marty’s. After moving to Boynton Beach, Florida in 1986, he started working in shopping mall security as the “mid-night man” at the Boynton Beach Mall. During his 34 year career he rose up through the ranks to become a Regional Security Director. He was Security Director for Palm Beach Mall (West Palm Beach), Sawgrass Mills Mall (Sunrise), East Lake Mall (Tampa), Florida Mall (Orlando) Regency Mall (Ga.) Miami International Mall (Miami) to name some. He retired from Allied Universal Security Services in February 2020 but remained as a Director for “fill-in” situations. He loved his co-workers & bonded with so many people with his quirky sense of humor and gregarious personality. He will be sorely missed by many. He loved his family most.

From 2020 on Vince worked as a Lock Tender Lake Okeechobee for South Florida Water Management. He loved being “up on the hill” as he called it and mixing it up with fishermen and boaters and throwing down doggie biscuits for their pets in the boat. It was serene at his station and he witnessed the fury of lightening and rain, then calmness with sunsets and wildlife adventures. It was good there.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandra (Cicchini) Poplawski and brother, Frankie Cicchini.

He married Martha (Marty Irving) on October 20, 1975 and is survived by her and their 3 children, Donna (DeSeife) and Michael Komarec, Anthony Cicchini, and Gino and Michelle (Eimermann) Cicchini, They have 5 grandchildren, Kayla and Corey, Nicholas, Catie and Jacob, and many nieces nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life gathering is being planned for the future.
