
Grant Jerome Bockwinkel AKA the Duke, age 57, joined his parents in heaven on April 10, 2024. Being the youngest of seven he was showered with love and allowed more room for exploring. He was born on September 29, 1966 in Libertyville, IL to Gerald J Bockwinkel Sr. and Patricia Faith Coyne both from St, Louis, MO. Grant grew up in Mundelein, Il and resided in Third Lake IL. He attended Santa Maria Del Popolo and Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein. He proudly joined the families successful Gold Coast business, 1350 Commissary on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, IL before starting a successful ATM business.
Grant’s outgoing personality was loved by all, even if you only knew him for a short time. Grant always had the ability to make people smile and laugh. Along with the love and devotion to his family, Grant’s love for adventure was known by all. Grant enjoyed spending his time outside, whether it was skiing or riding his ATV, or spending time with his family and friends. Grant was proud to show off the homes he built in Third Lake and Libertyville and various projects throughout his home. Family and friends could always count on Grant to be there for them. Grant wanted everyone to get along and work together.
Grant is survived by his children, Grant and Tess Bockwinkel, his siblings Gerald J (Susan) Bockwinkel, Glenn J. (Pamela) Bockwinkel, Patricia M and the late Kevin M. Happ, Gregory J Bockwinkel, Gordon J. Bockwinkel, George J. Bockwinkel and many nieces and nephews.
