John J. Cantwell, 49, a resident of Kenosha, died from complications of multiple sclerosis on Saturday, May 18, 2013, with family at his side at the Lakeview Specialty Hospital in Waterford, Wis.

Born on Nov. 7, 1963, in Kenosha he was the son of the late William P. Cantwell Jr., and Mary Ann (Principe) Zekovic.

He was educated in the schools of Kenosha, having attended St. Marks Catholic Grade and St. Joseph Catholic High School. He also attended Carthage College and UW- Parkside. He graduated from UW-Milwaukee.

He worked as a graphic design artist in Milwaukee.

He is survived by his stepmother, Carole Cantwell; two brothers, Jeffrey and Jason (Diana) Cantwell of Kenosha; four sisters, Paula (Michael) Boettcher of North Carolina, Debbie (Greg) Stein of Kenosha, Edie (Steve) LaMothe of Pleasant Prairie, Anne (Brian) Taylor of Kenosha; nieces and nephews Joe LaMothe, Kristine (LaMothe) Harms, Erik LaMothe, Alexis Stein, Michael Boettcher, Laura Boettcher, Troy Weston, Drew (Cantwell) Velasco, Dillon, Jason and Chad Cantwell, Brittney Taylor; two great nephews and two great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother and his stepfather, Milun Zekovic.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 24, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Marks Catholic Church in Kenosha. (7117-14th Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Friday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will take place at a later date.
