Jane Andrea Bruss, age 51, of Kenosha, died peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2007, at her residence surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. She was born on September 21, 1955, in Kenosha, the daughter of Alfred G. and E. Anne (Isermann) Andrea. Jane received her education at St. Mark Elementary School, and was a 1973 graduate of St. Joseph High School. In 1977, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Marquette University, graduating with highest honors. She joined Gimbel?s Department Store and worked as a buyer for import house wares, making many trips to Asia and Europe. While at Gimbel?s, she met the love of her life, Scott Bruss. They were married on October 21st, 1978 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. Together they came to Kenosha in 1981 to join the family business, Andrea?s. In 1986, along with her family, she founded a 2nd retail business Celebrate Wisconsin, with locations in Milwaukee and Door County. Jane, like her father and grandfather before her had a passion for her business, her customers and her community. Jane was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and was very active in many capacities at St. Joseph High School, especially the theater program. She was a longtime board member of the national trade organization, Gift Creations Concepts. Jane will be remembered for her boundless energy, creative talents and her passion for home and family. Her wisdom, strength and spirit enriched our lives. She is survived by her husband Scott; the joys of her life, her children, Christopher and Annie; her mother Anne Andrea; her siblings Mary Pat (Chris Swift) Andrea, David (Kathryn) Andrea, Catherine Preziosi, Susan (Terry) Schlenker, Caroline (Andy) Vaaler, Ann Andrea; along with her mother and father-in-law Betty and Vern Bruss; several brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Alfred G. Andrea, her brother John Andrea, and her brother-in-law Paul Preziosi. Jane?s family would like to thank her many caregivers who gave countless hours of their time and love. They all truly were her angels on earth.
