Lawrence Titus - Class Of 1968

Lawrence H. Titus Jr.
1950 - 2010

Lawrence H. Titus Jr., 59, Lake Geneva, Wis., died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at his residence.

Lawrence was born July 27, 1950, in San Francisco, Calif., the son of Lawrence H. and Ruth Marcou Titus Sr.

He was united in marriage to Marle G. Champion May 20, 1980, in Waco, Texas.
Lawrence was founder and co-owner of Gadzooks Clothing Stores. I guess we could go on and on about the accomplishments of his lifetime from Captain of the basketball team in high school to entrepreneur of the year in 1990. Lawrence was very involved with Big Brothers of America. He was involved with Fellow Mortals Wildlife because of his love for wildlife. He and his wife Marlene lived in foreign lands to experience life outside of the United States. He truly lived life to the fullest.

Lawrence is survived by his wife Marlene; sisters, Diane (Thomas) Walters of Waukesha, Wis., and Susan (Kenneth) Kosmoski of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Lawrence’s name to the Fellow Mortals Wildlife Hospital, W4632 Palmer Road, Lake Geneva, WI 53147, or make a memorial donation online through their website www.fellowmortals.org.

Steinke Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lake Geneva is assisting the family with arrangements. For online obituary and guest registry go to www.steinkefuneralhomeinc.com

From Michael Fargo:

Larry Titus died this morning, 01/10/2010. There is not going to be an official service (at Larry's request). He asked to give whatever money you were going to spend on a card or flowers to his favorite charity,  http://www.fellowmortals.org/ a wildlife hospital. Larry said he would prefer that the family get together and "do shots" and not make it a maudlin occasion." I will miss our friend Larry as I am sure you all will.

Larry had prostrate cancer. He had the prostate surgically removed and was well for quite some time. In late October, early November he was told the cancer had returned and metastasized to his kidneys and lungs. It eventually moved to his brain. We lost a good one from our presence.
