On May 24, 2025, Richard P. Kaminski finally found peace in heaven after having fought through many battles in life including bouts with sepsis, cancers, and lastly a stroke.

Born May 28, 1947, to the late Bernard and Isabelle (Verbonse) Kaminski, he was educated at St. Mark’s and graduated from St. Joseph High School (Kenosha) in 1966. Along with his friend and future brother-in-law, Lawrence Fliess, he enlisted in the Marine Corps in March of 1967 and served in Combat in Vietnam in the Thundering Third Battalion Fourth Regiment of Marines (Kilo Company). He fought and survived in Con Thien, Gio Linh, Phoui Noui, and the Battle of Khe Sanh. Discharged honorably as a Sergeant in June of 1969.

He married the love of his life, Patricia Fliess, on January 30, 1971.

He was employed at American Motors (Chrysler), starting there in 1970 and retiring in 2000 and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. His deep faith in God is what got him through all that he did.

Survived by his loving wife Patricia Kaminski; adoring daughters Kathleen Kaminski (Miles Brooks) and Jeanne George; son-in-law Robert George; grandsons Robert Jr., Peter, Nicholas, and Timothy George; his twin brother’s children Matthew Kaminski and Kimberly Northern; siblings-in-law Joseph (Sandy) Fliess, Timothy Fliess, Irene (Michael) Rossi, Terrence Fliess, Richard (Susan) Fliess, Lorraine Fliess and Ronald Fliess (Cathy Koessl); and many more nephews, nieces, and great nephews & nieces.

He was preceded in death by his first born and only son Peter; his parents; mother and father-in-law Joseph and Jean Fliess; his twin brother Paul Kaminski; brother-in-law Lawrence Fliess; sister-in-law Catherine Fliess; and niece Kristin Kaminski.

Many have said he is the toughest man they know. While he could often be gruff, he was also loving, protective, generous, smart, funny, sensitive and insightful. He had a talent for both writing and drawing.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Doctors Abdul Durrani and Joshua Bloom for his health care prior to his passing and to Reverend Father McDermott and Reverend Father Campbell for their spiritual and religious care.
