Michael G. Petersen
1947 - 2018

Michael G. Petersen, 71, of Birmingham Ala. (formerly of Batavia, Ill.) passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018.

Michael was the youngest son of the late Earl and Roma (Buchman) Petersen. He attended St. James Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1965. Mike graduated with an undergraduate degree in engineering from MSOE in 1969. He earned a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also furthered his education with a degree in Computer Sciences.

During his professional career he worked at Lucent Technologies and, most recently, Revcor. He retired from all professional work on 2017.

Michael is survived by his siblings Sue (Jeff) Alverson of Birmingham, Ala. and Gary (Cathleen) Petersen of Kenosha, Wis. Mike is further survived by his niece, Lindsay (Jonathan) Leonard and nephew, William (Janet) Flinko, as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews.

A private funeral service was held in Birmingham, Ala.
