Lee was the son of Lad and Lucille Neckar; he was born Dec. 22, 1946, in Kenosha, WI. Lee graduated from St. Joseph High School, the University of Dallas in Texas and received his master's degree in graphic arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In Austin, TX he was self-employed at the French-Neckar Interior Designer Company. He resided in Texas for 17 years. The Thoni-Kendall Funeral Home, Boscobel, was in charge of arrangements.
