As a child Karen attended St. George Catholic School and graduated for SJHS in 1965. Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 1976 with a focus in child cognitive development. In 1983 she earned a Masters of Science in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UW-M). Karen attained her educational aspiration when she received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Psychology from UW-M in 1998. While obtaining her degree Karen taught upper level psychology courses at UW-M and served an internship at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. During her academic career Karen lectured and presented papers at numerous conferences and symposiums, and was published in academic journals. Karen was a partner and clinical psychologist with InterConnections. Karen's family and their education were very important to her. To ensure her children received the finest education possible, she bought a nursery school and developed one of the first kindergartens in the area. She married Dale Allen Malsch on Aug. 24, 1968 at St. George Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Greno. Karen wished that all donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Flowers are nice, but finding a cure is better.
