

James John Labowsky
October 10, 1946 – May 20, 2025
James John (Jim) Labowsky, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and veteran, passed away on May 20, 2025. He was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on October 10, 1946, to German immigrants August and Maria (Stroinski) Labowsky.
Jim joined the U.S. Navy and served two tours in Vietnam on the USS England, proudly standing for his country. After his military service, Jim pursued a career in procurement, working with Johnson Motor Company in Waukegan, Illinois. In 1975, he moved to Columbus, Ohio to work at the D.L. Auld Company. He married Laura Hall Labowsky in 1982, and together they raised five children. In 1989 they moved to Austin, Texas where Jim continued his procurement career with 3M. After a fulfilling career, James retired from 3M Austin to Leander in 2005.
James is preceded in death by his sister Mary Bielewicz and his granddaughter, McKenna Coyan.
He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Laura Hall Labowsky, and their children: Christine Labowsky Neubauer and husband Doug Neubauer of Pickerington, Ohio; Kimberly Labowsky of Cincinnati, Ohio; Kathleen Labowsky Rigdon and husband Aaron Rigdon of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Richard Irvine, Jr. and wife Shannon Irvine of Leander, Texas; and Joshua Irvine and wife Lindsey Irvine of Leander, Texas. His grandchildren, Kailee Coyan-Reeves and Tyler Coyan, Dexter and Bo Rigdon, Maverick, Jaxson, and Jacob Irvine, will forever hold dear the memories of their Opa and all his stories.
A funeral will be held in Killeen, Texas at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Date and time to be announced.
