Lorraine Angela (Russo) Gregersen

April 12, 1947 – April 16, 2021

PENN VALLEY, CA - Lorraine (Russo) Gregersen passed away on April 16, 2021, at her home in Penn Valley, California, with family by her side. She was 74.

Lorraine was born on April 12, 1947, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the youngest of three children of Anthony "Tony" and Ida (Ventura) Russo. She attended St Mary's Elementary Catholic School, St Joseph's High School, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, graduated from Carthage College with a degree in Education, and then taught at some local schools. Lorraine always excelled in school, enjoyed the social aspect of college, and loved being part of the whole education system. Later, when she moved to California with her son, she held responsible positions at Hertz Rent-a-Car and United Airlines.

Lorraine liked entertaining in her home. She had fabulous dinners that she always cooked herself – homemade ravioli, pasta, and special cookies she made in her mother's tradition. And she never made lasagna with store-bought noodles. You always felt welcome at Lorraine's; she made you feel so comfortable. And she had a special way of giving a home personality, with her numerous collections, her needlepoints, and petit points, and her passion for the color red.

Lorraine loved to travel - to different parts of the world, Italy, New Zealand, Australia, to name a few, and to the U.S. national parks. Taos, New Mexico, was a favorite place, as was New England in autumn.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her father, mother, older brother Michael and son Michael Hubbard. She is survived by her husband Greg, her sister Dorothy (Russo) Heinrichs, her nephews Jamie and Danny Haskins, her great nieces Erin and Kylie Haskins, her great nephew Vance Haskins, numerous cousins and other relatives and friends. Lorraine – with her beautiful smile and hearty laugh - will be missed and remembered by everyone that knew her.
