Gerald (Jerry) Lain, 69, passed away on April 7, 2016 in Dallas Texas. He was born in Waukegan, Illinois to Darel Joseph Lain and Lucille (Riley) Lain. Jerry, the oldest of eight children, grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin graduating in 1964 from St. Joseph high school. He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin at Parkside where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Jerry continued is education and earned a Master’s Degree in Marketing at Roosevelt University in Chicago. On August 8 in 1970 Jerry married the love of his life, and best friend, Donna. They spent almost 50 wonderful years together. From this union he had two sons, Michael and Daniel. Jerry loved to travel. Some of him most memorable trips were his honeymoon to New York and Washington, DC and taking Mike and Dan camping. Later he and Donna travelled to Germany and later to Hawaii. Last year he and Donna went on a Caribbean cruise. In Jerry’s spare time he enjoyed being with his family. He also collected Morgan silver dollars. If there was anything Jerry loved, almost as much as his family, it was the Chicago Cubs. He loved cheering on his favorite team and this year he will be cheering them on as an angel in the outfield. Jerry attended St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Terrell, Texas where he was a devoted member. His family could not forget two of Jerry’s best friends, his dogs, Sparky and Abbey. Preceding him in death are, his parents, and his brother, John Lain. He leaves behind to cherish his memories: his wife, Donna of Garland, two sons, Michael Lain of California, and Daniel Lain and wife Alison of Garland; three sisters: Mary Lain, Gail Smith, and Karen Lain, and two brothers, Randy Lain and Kevin Lain all of whom live in Kenosha, Wisconsin. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home in Terrell, Texas with a visitation to follow. A mass will be held for Gerald on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Terrell, Texas.
