Jolene A. Flatley (née Covelli), 74 years old formerly of Libertyville, IL, passed away on August 25, 2020 at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove, WI. Born January 28, 1946 in Kenosha, WI, the daughter of late Joseph M. And Mary G. (Falduto) Covelli.

She dedicated over 30 years serving as a registered nurse in Lake County, Illinois; most of her career was spent at St. Theresa Medical Center, Waukegan, IL in the operating room and GI Lab. There she was known as “GI Jolene.”

She will be remembered by all, for her witty sense of humor, abundant and delicious Christmas cookies, her fabulous cooking, and her fond love and affection for dogs.

Survivors include her son, Marc (Erin) Trznadel, Daughter-in-law Sandra Covelli-Czarnyszka. Grandchildren Joseph, Kaitlin, and Benjamin Covelli; Madison Czarnyszka; and Susan Trznadel. Her brother, Nicolas (Joy) Covelli and sister, Gracelyn (David) Slayton, several nieces and nephews, Aunt Patricia Falduto, and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Covelli; and honorary son-in-law, Matthew Czarnyszka.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, once restrictions have been lifted, in the Spring of 2021.
