John M. Sturycz

John M. Sturycz, 73, of Hendersonville, NC passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Elizabeth House.

A native of Kenosha, he was the son of the late Stanley and Agatha Sturycz. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Cam Rahn Bay and involved in the amphibious operations with the Army's Navy.

After his time in the military, he began work as a medical laboratory manager. John was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed fishing and golfing, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandson, Benjamin. A loving, doting and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, his family will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Annette Sturycz; sons, Scott Scheinbaum, Paul Scheinbaum, and Robert Sturycz and wife, Becky; grandson, Benjamin Sturycz; and sisters, Jean Glembocki and Rita Gretzinger.

A funeral service with Military Honors will be held at 12 noon Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, N.C.
