CYNTHIA STULAC OBITUARY

Cynthia Ann Stulac obituary, Racine, WI

RACINE - Cynthia Ann (nee: Maegaard) Stulac, age 73, went gently to her final reward reuniting with her wonderful and dearly missed husband, Frank (who preceded her in death on November 22, 2003) on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Cynthia was born to Margaret (nee: Sorensen) and Norman Maegaard on September 3, 1942 in Kenosha. She attended St. George Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1960. Shortly after, Cindy followed her dream of becoming a nurse by attending St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Racine. During her senior year, she met her future husband, Francis “Frank” Stulac, on a blind date. The two were married on September 2, 1963. Of this union - two wonderful, delightful and intelligent children were born: Daniel in July 1964 and Francine in June 1966. They were the light of Cindy’s life and brought her much pride and joy. Cindy was employed as a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in September in 1966. Though the name changed, Cindy worked in the same hospital – St. Mary's, then All Saints Medical Center for over 43 years. Even after she retired, Cindy volunteered at the hospital with the VIP (Volunteers in Partnership) at All Saints Medical Center. Cindy loved movies and musicals and was a voracious reader – often found reading in a quiet corner. Cindy was also a devoted volunteer for the Racine Kilties and Countryside Animal Shelter. She was also active with the Retired Inactive Nurses Group (RING) of Racine. When Frank died in 2003, her heart was broken and life was never the same. Cindy was kind and generous. She will be deeply missed! Cindy is survived by son, Daniel F. Stulac; daughter, Francine M. (Len Jr.) Felske (Hales Corners); (ex) daughter-in-law, Cynthia Frabotta Stulac (Milford, MA); grandchildren, Alex D. Stulac, Nick F. Felske and Lauren C. Felske; brother, Daniel P. Maegaard (Kenosha, WI); brother-in-law, Jim (Beverly) Stulac; nieces and nephews, Adam Maegaard, Christine Maegaard Swanson, Barb (Scott) Larrabee and Jimmy Stulac; as well as other dear relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, husband and numerous aunts and uncles, Cindy was preceded in death by Frank’s parents, Stella and Frank Stulac; nephew, Tim Stulac and her dearly missed dogs, Bandit, Sable and Gracie. This obituary was written by Cindy in the weeks preceding her death as she learned that Advanced Heart Failure would reunite her with her husband. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 7:00 pm in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Private interment will take place in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorials to St. Lucy Church – Racine or to St. John the Evangelist School – Greenfield have been suggested. Cindy’s family wishes to thank the nursing staff at the WF – All Saints Intensive Care Unit for the compassionate care and support provided during this difficult time. May God bless all of you!
