Georgeann Catherine Metallo (Pinzger)

Wednesday, November 25th, 1942 - Monday, June 7th, 2021

As the sun rose on Monday, June 7, 2021, Georgeann Metallo, 78, experienced her personal life sunset.

Georgeann was born in Kenosha on November 25, 1942, to George and Alice (Serpe) Pinzger. She attended local schools and was a member of the 1961 class of St. Joseph High School.

On February 27, 1965, she was united in marriage to James T. Metallo at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Holy Rosary remained a constant in Georgeann’s life, whether serving in various capacities on Parish Council, a volunteer at the annual parish festival, sitting in the front row at mass, or her most cherished effort of preparing decades of First Holy Communion candidates for this blessed sacrament.

Volunteering was the lifeblood of Georgeann. She spent countless hours as a Girl Scout leader, 4-H Coordinator, Library Aid, field trip chaperone, as well as hundreds of volunteer hours at St. Mary’s/All Saints/Ascension hospital following her retirement.

Georgeann was fortunate to be a homemaker for many years. As her children matured, she entered the workforce at MacWhyte Wire Rope in the capacity of stenographer. She met some of her dearest friends while working at MacWhyte. Following MacWhyte she worked as a transcriptionist, wrapping up her career at InterConnections in Kenosha.

She enjoyed bowling, reading, word find puzzles, daily trivia and knitting, by which many babies were blessed with her beautiful handiwork.

Most of all, Georgeann cherished her title of Grandma Goofy given to her by granddaughters Madison Rose and Haley Elise. They were truly the light of her life!

Her beautiful life will be forever cherished by her husband of 56 years; her daughter, Christine Geliche (Tony); her grandchildren, Madison Geliche-Thomas (Billy) and Haley Geliche (Matt Christensen); and brothers, Thomas Pinzger (Marilyn) and George “Bud” Pinzger (Jackie). Georgeann is further survived by a host of devoted in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Georgeann was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary-Louise Pinzger; and daughter, Tina Metallo-Gjerdset.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Kenosha Hospice Alliance. The Team provided exemplary care during Georgeann’s final days.

Visitation will take place on Friday, June 11th, at Proko Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2224 45th Street, at 11:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, tributes in Georgeann’s name can be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or Hospice Alliance – Pleasant Prairie.
