Gerald Krajnak

Jerry Steven Krajnak

1942 - 2014

Jerry Steven Krajnak, 72, died unexpectedly on Dec. 12, 2014.

Born on May 30, 1942, in Racine, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ann (Adamovich) Krajnak.

He attended St. Lawrence Seminary in Mt. Calvary, Wis., and graduated from St. Joseph High School, Kenosha.

Jerry served his county in the U.S. Army; honorably discharged in 1964.

In 1968, he married Linda Zirbel and was blessed with two sons. Although they later divorced, their friendship continued over the years.

Jerry was employed as a purchasing agent for Sullivan and Becker; a money room manager at Dairyland Greyhound Park and as a scheduler for Tri Clover, retiring in 2002.

He was an active member at St. James Catholic Church; always giving of his time and talents. A former Parish Council member, Jerry also served as a lector and directed many fundraising events for the church. He reached out in the community volunteering for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry and coaching youth sports. Jerry was always coming to the aid of others; anticipating their needs. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and playing softball. Jerry was a founding member of the "Animals" Social Club.

Jerry is most remembered for his "Labor of Love" for his family; especially his grandchildren-nothing could stand in his way to spend time with them.

He will be sadly missed by his sons, David (Kristal) Krajnak of St. Francis and John (Theresa) Krajnak of Franklin; his grandchildren who were the light of his life, Samuel, Elliana, Maggie, Abby and Joey; his brother, Richard (Jeannine) Krajnak, nephews, Matthew and Robert and niece, Kathryn of Mt. Pleasant and his former spouse, Linda Krajnak. He leaves behind many treasured friends who were a very important part of his life. His love and generosity are gifts we will always be grateful for.
