1939 - 2015

Mark N. Fredericksen, 75, of Kenosha, passed away, Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on Aug. 24, 1939, to the late Simon and Lillian (Kleist) Fredericksen. He attended local schools and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in 1957.

On Feb. 20, 1971, he was united in marriage to Georgianna "Jill" Petersen. They were blessed with one son Scott Fredericksen.

Mark was employed as Postman, an orderly at St. Catherine's Hospital in the late 60's, and was a career Firefighter for 34 years with the Kenosha Fire Department retiring Dec. 31, 2000.

Mark was a member of St. James Catholic Church, a long time member of the Danish Brotherhood Lodge #14, and a past volunteer for the Pleasant Prairie Fire Department. Mark took special pride in his years coaching Little League, Pony League, and Senior League. He was also a bike racer with the Kenosha Wheelman in earlier years.

Mark loved visiting ballparks, camping, hunting, working on crossword puzzles and listening to the radio. He enjoyed many years as an avid gardener and harvested apples from his orchard. Mark was especially fond of his beagles, Cozy and his best friend Molly.

Mark is survived by his loving wife Jill and son, Scott and his daughter-in-law Courtney and grandchildren Will and Sammy who live in San Clemente, CA,brothers Paul, Kevin, Ray, Todd, and sisters Donna, Claire, Joan,and Chris. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother Lynn.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mark will be held on Wednesday, July 30, at 12 p.m. (Noon) at St. Mary's Catholic Church (corner of 39th Ave. and 74th St.). Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Memorials would be appreciated to the Danish Brotherhood Lodge #14 Scholarship Fund or to Safe Harbor Humane Society.
