Rick Hebert
Class Year: 1964
Residing In: Menomonee Falls, WI USA
Spouse/Partner: Karen
Military Service: Army - [drafted under protest]
Children: One Son - Nathan [he is so much smarter than his Dad it's scary.] But that has become a problem in my More…book. Nate will probably have his Doctorate in Psychology via UW. Madison very soon. = OK. The problem is he is a born perennial student! - Not a worker. He will probably end up with several doctorates' & never leave Madison as long as he can maintain the perennial 'student' or 'Professor' life style.- - - You have wishes & hopes for your kids & life being life YOUR plans for the 'kids' take their own direction no mater what you wish. - Ce La Vie.

No

What have you been up to since you graduated:

The Short version as of 3-10-10: Worked a few yrs. after St. Joes, went to Parkside & partied & loved the women! = got drafted because of poor grade point & then got lucky. I went to Germany/not V.N. I loved Germany & the German women, went AWOL multiple times just to see the country & learn to speak a little German. By a miracle I never got court marshaled? I discharged as a SP/4, burned my uniform @ O'Hare in the men's room & hitched home in civies. I then finished Parkside with a very embarrassingly hi Gph. & w/Honors. Then for awhile
worked & quit or was fired from a few jobs= working for someone else can be very dangerous to my personality type! I'm way to bull headed - just ask anyone.
I Got into sales, [married the right girl] then joined Orkin Pest Control in sales. - For 11 yrs. I truly excelled in both sales & Management to the point I was Manager of the year! (unbelievable $ bonus, all expense trip to the Bahamas, bigger company car, bla- bla. Then one day a few years later I knew the Orkin 'honey moon' was over & quit. I just couldn't take the total corporate BS any more! - - Dream time = IF the 6th. month later Orkin structural & policy changes had been enacted before I said QUIT, I would probably be a Sr. VP of Orkin today. [water under the bridge, Se La Vie, bla, bla bla.]

Well, I went into 'independent' sales for multiple Companies @ the same time, then started my own comp. in '95, primarily because I love beating the tax people @ their own game. Been CEO/Pres.& chief bottle washer & cook ever since. To this day I still work selling for myself directly [Rick Hebert Ltd.] & to others indirectly for a company called All Lighting Inc. as an independent salesman @ the same time. = My advise; Never-ever-ever let one entity [company] control you!

The only vices I'll admit to HERE are 1) Fishing. 2) I love my wife. 3) Reluctantly I put up with her extravagances to Nate. 4) I fight her tooth & nail daily for spending way-way to much $ on her clothes & 'expensive home improvements'. [in that order].

My current life interest? - Beating the tax guy @ every turn is always a favorite, not getting arrested again, making a few $ & wishing I had more, failing at maintaining 158 Lbs. - -

Sports wise; I sailed for 18 years & was flat nuts on this racing sport. I mean 'lunatic fringe time! Astronomy, ice boating, sky diving all had my near full attention for years. I never understood football/ baseball, etc. & to this day still can't see the fascination? (Yes people - I am a guy, with cajones & every thing!)

Right now Cat fishing with my buddy Tom in So. Ill. 2 or 3 times/yr., Walleye fishing with another buddy-Mark in the Upper Peninsula of Mich. a few times/yr. - - [I hate those damn poor excuses for a fish = Ghost eyed-Brown backed-Bottom feeding-Poor fighting-Mild tasting- trash fish in my book = Walleye! = I just like fishing w/Mark. And I am doing my darnedest to stop Karen's excessive spending which is a full time job in itself, when I'm not now 'playing' at selling for a living.

School Story:

No real dramatic HS. school story from my end.
Like most of you I have a few very special & cherished moments, a half dozen + people I'm still curious about. - - Mostly girls!, a few of the Sisters & a half dozen classmate guys.

About The 'Fathers' that taught us? --

My thoughts; Except for seeing the Father's Boxers [dogs] defecating in the rectory yard across the street when I was supposed to be paying attention in class, not really.- - [up dated insert on 9-5-10 via the impromptu 46th. class reunion @ Peggy Bode's house in Oconomowoc, WI.- - - fellow classmate Jerry Willkomm was rather insistant that in this bio I change the word 'defecating' above to "just say shit" Rick. Then, if memory serves he said something about how he would remember me in his will if I made this change.
Oh, waite a minute - about the Fathers thing; Father Clark once during class knocked me across a desk & flat on my butt for something I didn't do! That really pissed me off. Not because he did it, but because for once I wasn't being the class clown! Everyone else in the room was 'cutting up' in his absence but me! When he came back from his phone call or whatever he 'assumed' & I was the target. = 'no good deed shall ever go un-punished'. - - Again - CeLaVie.

A strange 'Farther' thing I just thought of; Both Karen my wife & I both worked together at the same time & loved a co-worker man named Jim. Jim was what I will always think of as a 'defrocked Priest. - Jim by choice left the Priesthood & married a great women that I can still see today. We all became friends & shared memories. When Karen & I decided to marry [religion aside - she being Lutheran/me being Catholic] There was no choice even for a moment. Even 'defrocked' Jim legally still had the power to marry us. He did, on a sailboat in the Kenosha harbor with all proper 'attendees' in the cockpit.

9-10-10 update from Rick; All of us know of the Priest's-little boy thing that has paged the Catholic Church for many years. It just never seems to end & if it is a slow news day we hear about it again & again & again. To me there may be something basically wrong in the chastity thing for priesthood on the one hand but why always 'little boys' in the news? Why never girls, adult men or women as these Priest chosen? Men are Men & that will never change in my book, Priest or not. Regardless, but why always little boys?? I don't believe for one minute that Catholic Priest could desire only little boys unless their teaching Monastery preached this doctrine?!.= get a life people!

I still believe in Religious leaders, Priest or what ever & regardless of their sexual orientation. We still need Religious leaders. If they want to suck on cocks, or pussy or both, or none I don't care, we need religious leadership. Let it go at that.

I do remember 'the board of education' in the main office @ St. Joes. I did feel it one time.

About School spirit? Not really and that is a shame. [I always had 'after school jobs' & that, on reflection is what prevented me from having any real school spirit.]

but all of the St. Joes e-mails & snail mails do make me feel so guilty I could sometimes cry! This isn't a bad thing at all because it reminds me of mostly good times.
