Mark Roy Watring, age 66, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on July 18th, 2026.
Born September 2nd, 1959, in Kenosha to Roy and Rita (Schnaufer) Watring, Mark graduated from St. Joseph High School and studied at UW Parkside before entering his lifelong career in construction with his father and uncles at Watring Brothers Construction, and over the course of his life he worked on many building and renovation projects, large and small, throughout the local Kenosha area and the wider United States.
He was a devoted father to Frank and David, an endearing grandfather to Francesca, and beloved and relied upon by his siblings, parents, and family members. His steady temperament and wry sense of humor brought comfort and companionship to everyone who was close to him.
He was an avid Sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing at every opportunity, and passed down that wisdom and love of the outdoors to his sons and granddaughter.
He is survived by his children, Frank (Fang) Petretti-Watring and David Petretti-Watring; his granddaughter Francesca; siblings Chris (Sue) Watring, Carolyn (Espen) Magnussen, Janis (Tom) Barnhill, John (Rowena) Watring, and Amy (Ryan) Shackelford; his former wife Patricia Petretti; and a great many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held on Friday, July 24th, 2026 at the Kemper Center (6501 3rd ave). Visitation with the family will take place from 10 till 11am, with a prayer service to immediately follow at 11am. He will then be laid to rest at St. George Cemetery.
