Ralph Thomas Bailey, age 76, of Uniontown, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on May 9, 1949, in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Arnold and Mary Bailey. He graduated from high school at St Joseph Catholic Academy in Kenosha, Wisconsin and continued his education at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin where he received a master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
He was hired as a Research Engineer at the Babcock & Wilcox Research Center where he held various positions including Technical Consultant before retiring after 39 years of service. He held 21 patents in diverse technical areas. In recognition of his 39 years of contributions, as well as his unwavering commitment to the Babcock & Wilcox Company, he was selected as the recipient of 33rd Engineering Honors Award.
In retirement he enjoyed woodworking, golfing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed his trips to Madison, Wisconsin to visit with his friends from college and his family.
He was a volunteer at Matthew 8:20 where he served at the monthly outreach and helped to organize the clothing trailer. He also volunteered and supported Lake Blue Streak Athletics.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Claudia (Moore) Bailey, sons; Michael (Jessica) Bailey, Dan (Alex) Bailey, grandchildren; Charlotte, Addison and Hayden Bailey, sister Regina Goodhall and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Mary Bailey and his sister Kathleen Pantzer.
Services for Ralph will be held on September 6th at 12:00 PM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 2952 Edison St NW, Uniontown, Ohio 44685 with Deacon Christopher Germak officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30AM to 12:00 PM prior to the church service. A luncheon for family and friends will be held following the service.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Matthew 8:20. Checks are to be made payable to Little Flower Parish at 2040 Diamond St NE Canton, OH 44721. Please indicate on the check that the donation is for Matthew 8:20.
