Arthur Dennis Morin passed away at his home in Prescott Valley on August 5, 2006 at the age of 59, after a long illness. Mr. Morin was born May 3, 1947 to Arthur and Bertha (Mamula) Morin in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where he grew up. After graduating from St. Joseph's High School in 1965, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served one tour of duty in Viet Nam. He was honorably discharged in 1969. Mr. Morin married Frances Bueckert in 1969, and after two years in Seattle, moved to Southern California, eventually settling in Claremont. Mr. Morin earned degrees from Santa Monica College and the University of Redlands. He joined the City of Los Angeles Fire Department in 1975 as a Paramedic, and promoted to Captain I/EMS District Commander. During his career on the Fire Department he co-founded the LA Paramedi c Relief Association and the LAFD Peer Support Program. In 1987 he was honored by the Community Protectors League for outstanding service. After retiring in 2004, he and his wife moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona. His hobby was restoring classic Chevrolets. He was a member of the Yavapai Classic Cruisers of Arizona. He loved oldies music, and could name most songs and artists from that era. Mr. Morin is survived by his loving wife, Frances of Prescott Valley, daughter Nanci,, son Steven, grandson Hunter Sass, and brother Michael, of California, his aunt Dorothy Scaglione of Michigan, and many cousins. A Memorial Service will take place at 4:00 PM Saturday, August 12, at the Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley. Memorial contributions may be made to the Yavapai Regional Medical Association Hospice Program, or to the Prescott Valley Samaritan Center.
