Kathryn "Kay" Marotz
July 3, 1945 - August 2, 2026
Kathryn “Kay” Marotz, 81, formerly of Kenosha, late of Elkhorn passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Sunday, August 2, 2026 at her residence.
She was born on July 3, 1945 to the late Leonard C. and Evelyn “Doris” (Smith) Zielsdorf in Kenosha. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School.
Kay married Alvin Marotz on March 4, 1967 in Waukegan, IL. He preceded her death in 2013.
Kay worked as a Kenosha City Crossing Guard for many years and a CNA for multiple local nursing homes before joining KMH where she worked as a CNA and retiring as a medical secretary after 20 years with them.
Kay loved playing Bingo, crocheting, bowling and getting together with family.
Kay is survived by her daughter Marianne (John) DeYoung, her sons Mark (Roxanne) Marotz, and Michael (Mary) Marotz, her grandchildren, Rachel, J.D., Michael, Tyler, Arianna, Katlyn, and Mason, and her siblings William (Theresa) Zielsdorf, Susan Massarini, Jon (Kim) Zielsdorf, James (Loralei) Zielsdorf, Kenneth (Iyore) Zielsdorf, and Leslie (Maria) Zielsdorf. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Carolyn Zielsdorf and a brother-in-law Tom Rasmussen.
She is preceded in death by her husband Alvin, her parents, a sister Carole, and a brother Thomas.
Funeral Services for Kay will be held on Monday, August 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
