In Loving Memory of Francis “Bucky” Dunnebacke September 20, 1943 – August 4, 2025 Kenosha, Wisconsin
Francis “Bucky” Dunnebacke passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, at the age of 81. A proud Kenosha native, Bucky lived a life rooted in family, faith, and service. After graduating from St. Joseph High School, he attended Gateway Technical College and served in the National Guard.
He went on to enjoy over 30 years as a computer analyst at Western Publishing in Racine and stayed active in retirement through work at Lowe’s. He was a man of many passions—fishing, hunting, golfing, and watching his beloved Packers. Bucky also had an adoration for his dogs and never missed a trip to the library. Bucky’s warm, patient, and generous spirit touched everyone he met.
He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Susan; daughter, Shelbie Degener; grandson, Matthew Johnston; nephew, Kenneth “Chris” Colby; grandnieces, Kaitey and Hannah Colby; and close family friend, Matt Wickersham. He is reunited in peace with his parents, Francis and Margaret Dunnebacke, and his son, Sean Degener. He will be dearly missed, always remembered, and forever loved. Honoring Bucky’s wishes, the family will not be holding any formal services. He preferred to be remembered in the quiet moments shared with loved ones.
