KENOSHA – Dolores A. (nee: McGrath) Barnett, 64, passed away from complications from heart surgery on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Memorial Hospital of Burlington. She was born in Kenosha on April 20, 1944, the daughter of Joseph and Verna (nee: Andersen) McGrath.
Dolores was educated at St. Mary’s and St. Joseph’s Schools. She was employed with AT&T and Ameritech as an operator and later as a central office technician. Dolores was able to retire at the age of 50 and spent those retirement years volunteering at Horizons Women’s Shelter and other Telephone Pioneer sponsored projects. She found great enjoyment in shopping resale stores for bargains for herself and many others. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Dolores is survived by her children, Todd Barnett, Debra (Jeff) Wamboldt, and Troy (Heidi) Barnett, all of Kenosha; her grandchildren, Kelsey and Kalee Barnett, and Michael and Rachel Wamboldt; also by sisters, Patricia (Don) McCann of Showlow, AZ, Kathleen (Peter) Clouthier of Racine; and brother, William (Anne) McGrath of Winchester, MA. Dolores is further survivived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many dear friends, especially her best friend Darlene (Bart) Keeling.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services honoring and celebrating Dolores’ life will be held at Lord of Life Church, 5601 Washington Road, on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jennifer Arnold officiating. Burial will be held at Green Ridge Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home, 6019 7th Ave., on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 13195 West Hampton Ave. Butler, WI., 53007.
