Joe Pfeiffer, 72, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully Monday, July 29, 2013, at his residence.

Born in Kenosha Oct. 25, 1940, he was the son of the late Mathias and Catherine (Harig) Pfeiffer. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, Joe attended St. Marys Catholic School and graduated from St. Joseph High School.

On Oct. 21, 1963, he entered the United States Army. Joe was a Marksman, serving in the military police until his release from active duty on Oct. 20, 1965.

He worked for Schoor Concrete, Yutka Fence and retired from Kenosha Unified Schools as a Custodian after 15 years.

Joe was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and the Train Club. He loved fishing, hunting, NASCAR races and was an avid Chicago Cub and Green Bay Packer Fan.

He is survived by his companion and friend of 35 years, Ellen Dumke of Kenosha; two close friends, Jeff and Craig Hartnell of Kenosha; as well as many, many other friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kathleen Pfeiffer.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 1, at St. Marys Catholic Church, 7307-40th Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Service.
