1940 - 2014

Arlene Marie Andersen, 74, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at her residence with her family at her side.

Born in Kenosha on July 6, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Morgenstern) Barca. Lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated in local schools and was in the first graduating class at St. Joes High School in 1959.

On April 18, 1964, she married William Andy Andersen at St. George Catholic Church in Kenosha.

Arlene was formerly employed with St. Catherines Hospital and Hospitality Manor as an aide. She loved to embroider, knit, crochet, crewel, read and go camping with her family. She was a loving parent and grandparent and used to care for children in a day care that she ran out of her home.

Survivors include her husband, William Andy Andersen, Sr. of Kenosha; three children, Kim Langston, Jackie Hagren and William Andersen, Jr., all of Kenosha; three grandchildren, Michael, Kelly and Kia; and her godson, Tim Kreuger. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters in-law, Bob (Judy) Andersen, Marge (Glen) Meier and George (Lynn) Andersen; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, at Proko Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association or the National Emphysema Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
