Obituary for Bonnie Tombolato
Bonnie Ann Tombolato was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away peacefully on March 13, 2022 at age 85 with her daughters at her side. Bonnie is now reunited with her beloved husband, Dino Tombolato.
Bonnie was born to Leon Podgorny and Mary Gryzik on July 13, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. After marrying the love of her life in 1957, she joyfully dedicated herself to raising her two daughters and, later, caring for her grandchildren.
Left to treasure her memory are her siblings Leona Henson, Tina Leonard, Rick (Dottie) Podgorny, and Michelle Alekna; her daughters Cindy (Tim) Elkins and Lisa (Doug) Becker; and her four grandchildren Amber (fiancé Brad) Elkins, Chelsea (Zac) Welk, Deana (fiancé Joe) Becker, and Derek Elkins.
Bonnie was a devoted mother and caregiver to all, often expressing her love through her extraordinary cooking. She took great pride in her gardening, and throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling, watching classic films, and frequenting her favorite restaurants.
The visitation will be Friday, March 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Matz Funeral Chapel, 410 E Rand Rd, Mt Prospect, IL.
