Gilbert Raymond Deming

1945 - 2024

t is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gilbert R. Deming of Bluffton, SC and Kansasville, Wi.

Gilbert passed away on January 15, 2024, at the age of 78 following complications from a stroke.

Gilbert was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, class of 1963. He attended the University of Wisconsin and married the love of his life, Judith Ann Rosko in 1966. He embarked on a career in financial management, starting at Transamerica Financial Corporation in Chicago before returning to Kenosha to be near family. After some years as director of finance for Hiller Chevrolet and Cadillac, he concluded his career as President of Jockey Credit Union, where he dedicated 30 fulfilling years.

Throughout his career, he remained active in various organizations, including the Wisconsin Credit Union League, the Kenosha Airport Commission, Winthrop Harbor Yacht Club and NHS (Neighborhood Housing Service of Kenosha).

Beyond his professional endeavors, Gilbert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, cherishing every moment with his children and grandchildren and sharing his inventive spirit with them. He possessed a forward-thinking mind, evident in his early patent on Electronic Banking and his efforts to draft a healthcare plan for America. Gilbert's sociable nature endeared him to many, fostering friendships wherever he went. He and Judy enjoyed sailing Lake Michigan, forging memories, and lifelong bonds along the way. His knack for fixing and building honed in his youth through model airplane construction, earned him the title of Wisconsin State Champion twice!

Gilbert is survived by his loving wife, Judy, daughter and son-in-law, Staci and Joseph Savaglio, grandsons Griffin and Ethan Patton, Anthony Savaglio, and granddaughter Nina Rose Savaglio, as well as brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Sylvia Rosko, and cherished cousins and nieces. Preceding him in death were his parents, Clara and Raymond Deming, sister, Audrey (Bernie) Kerce, and beloved daughter, Christie Deming.

A Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of Gilbert's life will take place in Kenosha, Wi in the Spring..
