Janet Tabili (Splitek)

Janet L. Splitek, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Janet was born in Kenosha on April 24, 1955 to the late Frank and Susan (Brown) Tabili. She was a 1973 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School and attended the University of Wisconsin- Parkside before graduating in fashion design from Gateway Technical College. In her younger years, she had been employed at First Bank- Southeast and later worked part time at P.P.G. Partners. Above all, Janet’s greatest joy was being a homemaker and it showed.

On November 22, 1980 she was united in marriage to James Splitek at Our Lady of Mt. Caramel Catholic Church in Kenosha. After their marriage, they could always be found in each other’s company and together they enjoyed many hobbies, including golfing, bowling, and camping with friends. Janet along with Jim, belonged to 2 X 4 couples’ bowling league for over 10 years and she was a member of the Traveling Birdies Golf League. Throughout their marriage, they enjoyed each day together and were fortunate to have traveled throughout the U.S. and parts of Europe.

Janet will be dearly missed by Jim, her husband of 36 years; three sisters, Kristine Kling, Susan (Lee) Downs, and Lee Ann Harp; and her beloved nieces, Grace Kling and Rachel Downs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Gaylord Kling and Mark Harp.
