Robert Lawrence Pfarr, 64, of Corinth passed away Jan. 8, in Plano, TX. He was born June 11, 1948, in Kenosha, Wis., to Robert Matthew Pfarr and Marilyne Carlson Pfarr. He attended Marquette University and Loyola University. He married Joan Kress Pfarr in Portland Me., on Dec. 29, 1990, and she preceded him in death.

Robert was a semi-retired forensics engineer for Pfarr Engineering. He previously volunteered as a firefighter in several towns and was actively involved in the cycling community. He held both Competition and Coaching licenses from USA Cycling, was an amateur cycling historian, and was a voting member of the US Bicycle Hall of Fame.

The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors Friday night from 6-8 p.m. for visitation. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mark Catholic Church with Father George officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.

He is survived by his fiance;e, Shawn P. Rider of Corinth; daughters, Kristin and husband Joshua Blanchard of Daphne Ala., Jennifer and husband Ryan Proly of Tampa Fla.; stepsons, Michael and wife Judy Kress of Westwood Mass., Steven and wife Carrie Kress of Aubrey TX, Daniel and wife Laura Kress and Theodore Kress of Denton TX; sisters, Sandy Stoner of Ogden Ut., Sheri and husband Tom Holmgren of Somers Wis.; brother, Gary Pfarr of Kenosha, Wis., and 15 grandchildren.
