David H. Vos

1945 - 2015

David H. Vos, 70, of Trevor, Wis., passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Artisan Assisted Living, Lake Geneva, Wis. He was born March 20, 1945, in Burlington, Wis., the son of the late Cletus and Ruby (Murdock) Vos. David has been a lifelong resident of the Antioch, Ill., and Trevor areas. He enjoyed his time living near Antioch Lake, as well as feeding and watching wild birds. He was an animal lover, and cherished his dogs. If there was a practical joke, you knew David was behind it; he truly enjoyed making people laugh, even if it meant going to great lengths. He was also a very jovial, giving, and generous man; his legacy will live on forever in those who love him. David had an interest in old country and oldies music, especially the works of Diana Ross, Reba McEntire, and Dolly Parton. He worked for many years at Intermatic in Spring Grove, Ill., then spent five years with the Antioch Police Department, and most recently worked as a clerk for the US Postal Service, retiring after 30 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, June (Horton); two children, Dennis Vos, and Dawn (Dennis) Katzel, both of Salem, Wis.; and two stepchildren, Jaqueline Lutz of Twin Lakes, Wis., and Sara Lutz of Wadsworth, Ill.; a sister, Ann (James) Kreiger of LaPorte, Minn.; a dear granddaughter, Violet Love; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by siblings, Robert, Shirley, Jean, Jack and Sue.

Memorial services will be private. A memorial visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch. INFO 847-395-4000.
