Dorothy Anderson, 70, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Grande Prairie Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie.

Born in Kenosha on Jan. 9, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Metallo) Volpentesta and was educated in local schools.

For over 20 years she was employed by Cherry Electric.

Dorothy was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge and enjoyed playing cards, baking, and all arts and crafts.

Surviving are her two daughters, Tina (Nigel) Edward of Racine and Deanna Anderson of Milwaukee; two sisters, Helen "Joann" (Richard) Anderson of San Diego, Calif., and Connie Rose (Jim) Colemann of Washington State; and her four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Volpentesta; a great-grandson, Giovanni Osborne; and her aunt and uncle, Angeline and Harold Benn.

The family would like to extend a special thank you the all the doctors, nurses and staff of Aurora Medical Center and Grande Prairie Rehabilitation Center for all of the special care and support they gave.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Feb. 18, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 9005-22nd Avenue, at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Monday at St. Therese Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
