William Shulski

William F. "Bill" Shulski

1943 - 2018

William "Bill" F. Shulski, 74, of Kenosha, passed away suddenly, Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at Froedtert South Kenosha Medical Center Campus.

He was born on June 7, 1943, to the late William V. and Emma (DiCello) Shulski in Kenosha. Bill's father was in an engineering detachment in the Islands during WWII and met his father for the first time in late 1946 when he was three years old. Bill attended parochial schools starting with St. James, St. Mary's and graduating from St. Joe's High School. After high school Bill worked with his father at Century Metal Co. for about one year.

Bill had a wonderful, family-filled time to grow up in. He lived in a big house of his grandparents. His mother, Emma, had an upstairs apartment and the rest of mom's family lived there also, three sisters and two brothers. Bill could not do much wrong in those days, because he either had grandparents, aunts, uncles and his mom to watch over him!

Most days his grandma would start a recipe mid-morning and the odor of Italian cooking would be in every pore of that old house. The whole family coming and going would be drooling by mid-afternoon! All Happy Days.

Bill entered the US Army in September of 1962. He tested and was accepted into the US Army security agency. After schooling was complete he shipped out to Germany as an agency analyst.

While in Germany (Frankfurt) he met the love of his life, the former Monika Frederich. Monika was a native of Berlin (West) and her parents still lived there. She was working for the Swiss International Insurance Company when she met Bill. They were married in Germany on Aug. 12 and 13, 1965.

Returning to the states, Bill worked a short time with his father (sold in 1972). Bill later worked at MacWhyte Co. as a manager operator and later as a production supervisor. After MacWhyte, Bill spent the next 10 years at Century 21 Baltes-Selsberg as a broker-salesman; 1993 saw Bill driving semi-trailer for SuperValu until they sold in Kenosha. Bill worked a brief time for Kutzler Inc., before he retired to thoroughly enjoy his family.

Bill was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the teamster's union #43 and the IAM #34.

Bill enjoyed reading, fishing, biking, traveling and socializing.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Monika; his children, Peter Shulski of Flagstaff, Ariz., Natascha Stewart and Nicole Shulski, both of Kenosha; his grandchildren, Joshua (Heather), Jeremy, Joseph, Jordan, Eugene and Sabre; his great grandchildren, Collin, Kaylee, Joshua Jr., Ainsley, Gabriel and Oliver; his siblings, Sharon Budai of New Jersey, Patricia (Donald) Sabby of Wisconsin, JoAnn (James) Tyson of Wisconsin, Mark (Machelle Sax) Shulski of Wisconsin; and his aunt, Catherine Lee.

Funeral Services for Bill will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials would be appreciated to the DAV
