Nancy J. Burnett

1942 - 2016

Nancy J. Burnett, 73, of Kenosha passed away on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Chicago, Ill., on Nov. 24, 1942, daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys Petry.

Nancy was a graduate of St. Joseph's Catholic School. On Aug. 31, 1963, she married James Burnett at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, baking, gardening and sewing.

She was employed as a legal secretary for Brookhouse Law firm and later for Jansson and Shupe Law firm until her retirement in 2000.

Surviving Nancy are her two children, Robert (Marinez) of Dakota Dunes, SD, and Wendy (Brad) Pfeiffer of Salem, Wis., Daughter in-law, Jeanne Burnett of Dakota Dunes, SD, seven grandchildren: Cara, Ashley, Amber, Alex, Courtney, Rachael and Mia, two step grandchildren, Zyra and Zach and two step great grandchildren, Arkin and Zoe, one sister, Mary (Larry) Litchfield of Phoenix, Ariz., and one brother John (Marty) Petry of Oregon, Wis.

Nancy is preceded in death by her son Jeffrey and a niece, Rebecca Petry.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church on Thursday, Feb. 11th at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of Mass. Interment will be private at All Saints Cemetery. -
