Michael Alois Kolowski

Michael Alois Kolowski, 68, of Mogadore, passed away Friday, March 6, 2009 at Health Park Hospital in Fort Myers Beach, Fla. He was born September 8, 1940, in Kenosha, Wisc. to Michael and Helen (Pfieffer)  Kolowski. He was head of light truck tire engineering at Goodyear for 40 years. His achievements included over 90 patents and was named Inventor of the Year in 1996 and 1999. Michael had a passion for the outdoors and his family. He spent most of his retired years tending to his extensive landscaping and enjoying the outdoors with family.    Recently he accomplished his goal of running around the world. Since keeping track of his miles in the 1980's he covered more than 26,000 miles. Michael is also a local artist with annual showings at Viking Vineyards, He is survived by his son, Michael Zachary Kolowski; granddaughters, Kaia J Kolowski of Mogadore and Hannah M. Gray of Atwater; sister, Kathleen (Dennis) Hulen of Waukesha, Wisc.; brother-in-law, Ken Becker of Cable, Wisc.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Frances Becker, Catherine Kolowski, and Marion Marescalco. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home.
